Track stock levels and low-stock alerts

Track stock in your Zimbabwe shop: every sale deducts inventory automatically and low-stock alerts tell you exactly when to reorder before you run out.

Updated 13 September 2026

When Track inventory is on for an item, Swipee keeps a live count and moves it for you.

What moves the count

Set your opening count

When you add an item, enter what is actually on the shelf right now — not what should be there. An honest starting number is worth more than a tidy one.

Low-stock level

Each item and variation has a low stock level. When the count drops to it or below, the item is flagged in the dashboard and counted in the low-stock figure on your overview.

Set it to roughly what you sell while a reorder is on its way. If a case takes four days to arrive and you sell six a day, set it near 24 — not 2.

Restock a finished item

When a delivery arrives, do not edit the item and type a new total. That replaces the count and is easy to get wrong.

  1. 1
    Open Inventory.
  2. 2
Filter Finished if it sold out, or Low if it is running down.
  3. 3
    Choose Restock on the row.
  4. 4
Enter how many cases arrived and any loose singles.
  5. 5
Confirm. Swipee adds that to what is already on the shelf.

Example: 5 singles left, 2 cases of 24 arrive → 53 singles (2 cases + 5 loose).

Adjust stock by hand

Use Edit only when you counted the shelf and need the number to match reality (stocktake, breakage, theft). Change the on-hand count there, then save. History records the movement as stock in or stock out.

Do a stocktake

Use Inventory → Stocktakes in the dashboard or More → Stocktake on the till. Start a full or partial count, enter what is physically present, explain each variance, and submit it. Stock changes only after a manager or owner approves the sheet with their PIN.

See Run a stocktake for the full process. Use a manual adjustment only for a single immediate correction; a planned shelf count belongs on a stocktake sheet.
