Export and bulk-edit your catalogue

Download a safe spreadsheet copy, change many items together, or update selected catalogue fields in one action.

Updated 13 September 2026

Use Inventory → Bulk catalogue in the owner dashboard when the same change belongs on many items. This is a management workflow and is deliberately not on the till app.

Export before a large change

Choose Export catalogue to download the column names Swipee understands. Keep that file before a large reprice; bulk edits are audited and all-or-nothing, but they do not have an undo button.

The export is also a round-trip template: edit it in a spreadsheet and bring it back through Move to Swipee. Existing rows match by SKU first, then barcode, then name, so they can update instead of duplicating.

Select items

Search or filter the list, tick the items you want, and check the selected count before applying anything. A filtered list is not automatically selected.

Changes you can apply

  • Raise or lower selling prices by a percentage
  • Set one selling price
  • Set a low-stock or reorder level
  • Change active or hidden status

Only the field you choose is changed. The selected update either succeeds for the whole selection or leaves every item untouched.

Use a spreadsheet for row-by-row changes

Bulk edit is best when one rule applies to many items. Use export, edit, and import when each row needs a different price, cost, stock count, barcode, or category. The import review shows updates and problems before it writes anything.

Avoid costly mistakes

  • Export a copy first.
  • Test the change on a few items when the rule is new.
  • Check whether a percentage should be positive or negative.
  • Do not use a bulk price change to alter stock quantities.
  • Review several items at the till after applying a large update.
