Read your sales reports

Turn a list of transactions into decisions about what to stock, when to open, and what to push.

Reports live in Analytics in the dashboard, and in Reports in the app for the quick version.

What you get

  • Sales over time — daily takings, so you can see your real trading rhythm.
  • Transaction count — how many sales, next to how much money.
  • Average sale — the size of a typical basket.
  • Success and failure counts — how many payments went through.
  • Best sellers — which items actually move.
  • Category performance — which part of the shop earns.

Questions worth asking

Which day is my worst? If Wednesday is consistently half of Thursday, consider shorter hours, a promotion, or restocking that day instead.

Is my average sale rising or falling? Rising takings with a falling average means more customers buying less. Falling takings with a steady average means fewer customers. The two problems have different fixes.

What sells that I barely stock? Best sellers with frequent low-stock flags are lost revenue you can recover this week.

What does not sell at all? Items with no sales in a month are money sitting on a shelf. Discount them, bundle them, or stop reordering.

Comparing periods

Look at this week against last week, and this month against last month, before you draw a conclusion. Zimbabwean trade has strong month-end and pay-week rhythms — comparing a month-end week against a mid-month week will mislead you every time.

Currencies stay separate

Reports show each currency on its own. See Working in USD and ZiG.
