Sign in on the till with a device code
Pair a phone to one store with a one-time device code, then let each staff member start work with their own PIN.
Updated 13 September 2026
Staff should never need your owner password to serve customers. Generate a six-digit device code in the dashboard and enter it once on the till phone. The phone stays paired to that store afterwards.
A device code identifies the phone and store. A staff PIN identifies the person using it. They solve different problems and should not be shared.
Generate a code
- 1In the owner dashboard, open Stores (or Devices).
- 2Choose the store the phone will serve.
- 3Select Create login code.
- 4Give the device a name you will recognise, such as "Counter 1" or "Tino's phone".
- 5Swipee shows a six-digit code.
Enter the code on the phone
- 1Open Swipee on the till phone.
- 2On the sign-in screen, choose Use a device code.
- 3Type the six digits and confirm.
The phone signs in to that store and is registered as a POS device on your account.
Start the staff shift
After the phone is paired:
- 1Open More → Who is on the till.
- 2The cashier or manager enters their own PIN.
- 3Choose Start my shift.
Sales, stock counts, corrections, and drawer actions now carry that person's name. Add people and PINs from the dashboard under Staff; see Add staff and start a shift.
Manage your devices
Open Stores → Paired Devices in the dashboard to see every phone signed in to your business, which store it belongs to, and when it was last used. If a phone is lost, sold, or leaves with a former employee, choose Sign out there — the device loses access at once.
Good habits
- One code per phone. Do not pass a code around.
- Name devices after the counter or person, not the phone model.
- Review the device list at the end of every month.
