Add staff and start a shift

Staff PINs answer who is using this till? They are separate from the device code that pairs a phone to your shop. Pair each phone once; staff then use their own PIN when they start work.

Add someone

Only an owner can add or edit staff.

   Enter their name, role, and a private 4–8 digit PIN.

   Choose one store or leave Any store.

   Save.

Every person needs a different PIN. Swipee rejects common guesses such as 1234 and repeated digits.

A shop must always keep at least one active owner.

Start a shift on the till

   Open More → Who is on the till.

   Check the name currently shown.

   Enter your own PIN.

   Choose Start my shift.

The new session keeps the phone attached to the same store and till, but future activity carries that person's name. If nobody signs in, the till acts as the shop owner account.

Manager approval

When a cashier starts a protected action, Swipee asks a manager or owner to enter their PIN. The approval can be used once, expires after a short time, and appears under Staff → Manager approvals with the approver's name.

Never tell a cashier your PIN to reuse later. Walk to the till, check the action and amount, then enter it yourself.

Suspend or unlock someone

Open the person under Staff → Edit to change their role, assign a store, set a new PIN, or suspend access. A new PIN also clears a lockout.

After five wrong PIN attempts, sign-in is locked for five minutes. Do not keep guessing; an owner can set a new PIN when needed.
