What is Swipee?
Swipee turns an Android phone or iPhone into a till connected to inventory, staff controls, customer accounts, and a web back office.

Swipee is a business operating system for merchants who trade in cash, mobile money, and cards — often all in the same hour. It brings the counter, stockroom, and owner reporting into one record.
- A till. Ring up quick amounts or item baskets, record how the customer paid, print a receipt, and keep working through a network drop.
- A stockroom. Track stock by store, receive purchase orders, run stocktakes, move goods between locations, and watch batches or expiry.
- A back office. See sales, expenses, profit, stock value, staff, customer accounts, cash drawers, and exports in a web browser.
What you need
- A supported Android phone or iPhone for the till
- Any current web browser for the owner dashboard
- A phone number and email address to create the owner account
You do not need a Zimbabwean bank account, a bank merchant ID, or dedicated card hardware to start recording your business. Live digital payment processing is not connected during the pilot.

The app and dashboard share one account. A synced sale appears in the dashboard; a catalogue or price change appears on connected tills.
Currencies
Swipee records sales in USD or ZiG and keeps report totals separate. Most shops set item prices in USD and maintain one shop-wide USD-to-ZiG rate; ZiG-only shops can price directly in ZiG. See Working in USD and ZiG.
Pilot payment boundary
Cash sales are taken normally. For card and mobile money, collect through your own terminal or wallet first, then record the method in Swipee. Cash-out remains a simulated pilot journey. See What works today and what is still a prototype.
