Record a mobile money sale
How to keep your books and stock correct when a customer pays with EcoCash, OneMoney, or InnBucks.
Updated 21 August 2026
Mobile money is how a large share of Zimbabwean trade happens, so Swipee records it as a first-class payment method.
Record the sale
- 1Build the basket or type the amount.
- 2Tap Charge.
- 3Choose Mobile money.
- 4Select the wallet the customer used.
- 5Enter the reference from the confirmation message, if you have one.
- 6Confirm.
Why the reference matters
The reference is the thread between your Swipee record and the money in your wallet. Enter it and month-end reconciliation becomes a matching exercise rather than a memory test. It appears on the receipt and in the transaction detail.
What Swipee does with it
- Records the sale with method
MOBILE_MONEY. - Removes the items from stock.
- Adds it to your takings and reports for the day.
- Produces a receipt.
What Swipee does not do yet
- It does not send a payment request to the customer's wallet.
- It does not verify that the money arrived.
- It does not settle the money into your Swipee balance.
Fees
No Swipee fee applies to a recorded mobile-money sale, because Swipee did not process the payment. Your wallet provider's own charges still apply as normal. When a live rail is connected, the fee and the settlement will be shown to you before anything changes.
