Working in USD and ZiG
Swipee keeps your currencies apart, so your takings, prices, and reports always mean what they say.

Zimbabwean trade happens in more than one currency, often in the same transaction. Swipee handles this by keeping each currency separate rather than blending them.
How currency works in Swipee
- Every price is stored in the currency you set it in.
- Every sale records the currency it was taken in.
- Reports and totals are shown per currency.
- Your balance is held per currency.
Swipee does not convert one currency into another behind your back, and does not apply an exchange rate of its own.
Switch currency at the till
The currency chip sits above the amount on the checkout screen. Tap it to switch between USD and ZiG before you charge. Check it before every sale that is not in your usual currency — it is the easiest thing to miss at a busy counter.
Pricing items in two currencies
Set the item price in the currency you actually quote to customers. If you genuinely sell the same item in both, the clearest approach is a variation per currency, each with its own price, so nobody has to convert in their head at the counter.
Reading multi-currency reports
Your sales summary shows each currency on its own line. Resist the urge to add them together — a single blended number hides which side of your business is growing.
A note on rates
If you convert between currencies yourself, do it outside Swipee at the rate you actually got, then record each sale in the currency it was taken in. That keeps your Swipee record matched to reality.
