Your data and privacy

What Swipee stores, what it never stores, and the choices you control.

Updated 13 September 2026

Swipee holds business records on your behalf. Here is plainly what that means.

What Swipee stores

  • Your account details: name, phone number, email, business details.
  • Your trading records: transactions, items, stock movements, receipts.
  • Customer records you choose to create.
  • Security events: sign-ins, password changes, setting changes.

What Swipee never stores

  • Full card numbers. The current record-only card flow collects no card number at all. Swipee never needs the number from your external bank terminal.
  • Your password. It is stored only as a one-way hash that cannot be reversed.
  • Your one-time codes, beyond the few minutes they are valid.
  • Your customers' mobile-money PINs. Swipee never asks for them, and neither should anyone claiming to be from Swipee.

In transit and at rest

Traffic between your app or browser and Swipee travels over an encrypted connection. Access to your business data requires your credentials, and every request is tied to your merchant account.

Cookies on the website

The Swipee website asks for your cookie choices on first visit. Necessary cookies keep you signed in and cannot be turned off; performance, personalisation, and analytics cookies are optional and can be changed at any time from the cookie settings link.

Your customers' data

If you record customer details, that information belongs to your business and you are responsible for it. Collect only what you need, tell customers why you are asking, and delete records when they ask you to.

Getting your data out

In the owner dashboard, open Settings → Your Data to download sales, items sold, corrections, stock on hand, tax, and staff-action records as CSV files. Report and catalogue pages have their own filtered CSV exports. See Export your data and check shop health.

Requests and questions

For access, correction, or deletion of your account data, contact support with your merchant details.
