Turn on two-step verification
Add a second check at sign-in so a stolen password is not enough to reach your money.
Updated 21 August 2026
Two-step verification means signing in needs something you know (your password) and something you have (your phone). It is the single strongest thing you can do to protect a Swipee account.
Choose a method
| Method | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Authenticator app | A code that changes every 30 seconds in an app on your phone | Everyone — it works without network or airtime |
| SMS | A code sent to your registered number | Merchants who prefer not to install another app |
An authenticator app is more secure, because a code in an app cannot be intercepted the way a text message can.
Turn it on
- 1Open Settings → Security.
- 2Switch on Two-step verification.
- 3Choose Authenticator app or SMS.
- 4For an authenticator app, scan the code shown with your app, then enter the six digits it generates to confirm.
- 5For SMS, confirm your phone number and enter the code you receive.
- 6Save.
Signing in afterwards
Enter your email and password as usual, then the six-digit code. Codes are short-lived — if one is rejected, wait for the next and try again.
Losing your phone
If you lose the phone holding your authenticator app, contact support with your merchant details. Turn on two-step verification only once you are confident you can reach your codes.
For staff
Staff on till devices sign in with a device code and do not need their own two-step setup. Protect the owner account — that is the one that can move money.
